NPR Michigan Radio Features NEMWI Expert’s Analysis of Detroit Drinking Water (December 2nd, 2016)

Unsafe lead concentrations in Flint, Michigan’s public drinking water has sparked concerns about ageing water infrastructure across the nation. Safe Drinking Water Research and Policy Program Director Elin Betanzo’s work on the Flint Water Crisis has expanded to analyzing lead concentrations in Detroit’s water lines. Elin’s efforts to discover the size and scope of lead contamination, as well as to expand access to home water tests, were featured in a recent article by NPR’s Michigan Radio.
