The Trump administration has released its full federal budget request for FY 2018 on May 23. The $4.1 trillion budget request would cut spending for non-defense domestic programs by $54 billion and slash overall federal spending by $3.6 trillion over the next decade. Previously, in March the administration released a “skinny” budget outlining many of the principles and cuts contained in the full budget proposal. The Northeast-Midwest Institute has prepared a fact sheet on the administration’s proposal that can be viewed here.
As part of its ongoing tracking of federal funds, NEMWI has updated its records of funding levels for key federal programs in the Northeast-Midwest region, which can be found here. Readers can see the administration’s funding requests for individual programs and compare them to Congressional appropriations from previous years.
