NEMWI Hosts Second Session of Great Lakes Primer and Orientation Program

The Northeast-Midwest Institute (NEMWI) will hold the second session of the 2021 Great Lakes Primer and Orientation Program this Friday, May 7, at Noon EDT. Registration for the second webinar session, which will focus on invasive species in the Great Lakes can be found here. Panelist at this session will include:

  • Mr. Marc Gaden, Communications Director & Legislative Liaison, Great Lakes Fishery Commission;
  • Mr. Marc Smith, Policy Director, National Wildlife Federation; and
  • Mr. Patrick Kocovsky, Invasive Species Specialist, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The 2021 Great Lakes Primer and Orientation Program in a series of one-hour webinars that endeavor to provide Congressional staff with a fundamental policy education on the most critical issues that directly impact the health of the Great Lakes at the federal level. Planed sessions include the following:

  • The Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI);
  • Invasive Species in the Great Lakes;
  • Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs) in the Great Lakes; and
  • Climate Change and Coastal Resiliency in the Great Lakes.
