Environmental Policy Internship

Opportunity
The Northeast-Midwest Institute seeks a fall 2015 intern to assist in its policy research and outreach in a variety of areas related to the environment.

Background
The Northeast-Midwest Institute is seeking to strengthen and expand existing programmatic work – focused on environmental quality, economic vitality, and regional equity for the 18 states of the northeast and midwest – and also to develop and launch new programmatic directions – including policy areas relating to cities, infrastructure, water quality and waterways, and policy education and outreach.

Possible Tasks

•  Assist with expanding existing programs and developing new programs in the areas of water quality, waterways, the Great Lakes, and brownfields redevelopment
•  Attend and take notes at relevant federal hearings and briefings
•  Track policy developments pertinent to protection and restoration of the region’s water resources, as well as brownfields redevelopment
•  Assist with environmental policy education and outreach

Compensation
Institute internships are unpaid; academic  course credit is available in accordance with university policy.
