Eugene Shestakov

Development and Communications Assistant

As the Development and Communications Assistant, Eugene writes and posts news, announcements, and updates to the website, as well as manages its organization and appearance. He helps research areas for future program development and funding, organizes event logistics, and aids outreach to Congressional offices and regional stakeholder groups.

Eugene’s time at the Institute began as an intern in 2015 during his undergraduate studies. After spending time interning and working in the U.S. Senate, he rejoined the Institute in the fall of 2016 as a Development and Communications Assistant.

Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Eugene holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a minor in International Affairs from George Washington University in D.C.
