NEMW Region Loses Clout in U.S. House of Representatives with 2012 Redistricting

On December 21, 2010 the U.S. Census Bureau unveiled a new set of state and national population numbers that reshaped the U.S. House of Representatives seat map in 2012. Eight out of the 10 states that lost House seats in the wake of the 2010 Census were from the Northeast-Midwest region. This two-page fact sheet details which states lost and gained seats in the redistricting process. It features graphs that illustrate regional population change and regional changes in House seats between 1910 and 2010. It also includes a table that details state-by-state representation in the House from 1910 to 2010.
