The first annual Upper Midwest Stream Restoration Symposium will be held on February 21-24, 2010, at the Stoney Creek Inn, 3060 S. Kinney Coulee Road, Onalaska, Wisconsin 54650 (608/781-3060).

The Symposium aims to bring together leading national and regional stream restoration practitioners for presentations and discussions on important regional stream and river restoration issues. Symposium topics will include:

• Pre and post monitoring for stream restoration
  
• Stream restoration design
• Restoration monitoring: ecological, geomorphic and hydraulic
• Large-river restoration
• Dams and dam removal
• Numerical modeling in restoration design
• The channel-floodplain connection
• Great Lakes Restoration

This symposium is designed to foster exchange, conversation, and new collaborations among  restoration practitioners in the Upper Midwest. Registration will include symposium attendance, housing, and meals during the conference, and is limited to 120 participants.
