Rachel Dawson is a Policy Analyst at the Northeast-Midwest Institute, focusing on issues associated with mid-Atlantic watersheds, particularly the Chesapeake Bay and Delaware River Basin. She works with watershed-based Congressional Task Forces to address water quality issues and promote ecosystem restoration and stakeholder collaboration.  She is also spearheading a new initiative driven by multi-stakeholder collaboration to address the deficit of quality information associated with Marcellus Shale natural gas development in the Northeast.

Ms. Dawson was most recently a Conservation Policy Specialist at Ducks Unlimited where she worked on policy initiatives and issues primarily associated with the Clean Water Act, Farm Bill, and North American Wetlands Conservation Act. She was also responsible for facilitating one of the organization's largest and most successful annual fundraising events. Prior to coming to Washington, Ms. Dawson worked in Ducks Unlimited's Annapolis Field Office where she assisted in the on-the-ground wetland and ecosystem restoration efforts throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. She recieved her Masters in Environmental and Natural Resources Policy from the George Washington University and her Bachelors in Environmental Planning from the University of Miami.

Outside the beltway, Ms. Dawson is an avid outdoorswoman and spends most weekends throughout the year hunting and fishing on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  She claims both Somerset County, Maryland and Sussex County in Delaware as home.
