  • Thomas H. Cochran
    After participating in the formation of the Northeast-Midwest Institute and serving as its original executive director, Mr. Cochran served as an executive at MBIA Insurance and Lehman Brothers, as well as Special Asst. to the Governor of New Jersey for heathcare and education finance issues. He is now Managing Director of CivilCredit Advisors, a New Jersey-based public finance consultancy.
  • Robert Clarke Brown
    Robert Clarke Brown of Cleveland, Ohio is Treasurer of Case Western Reserve University.  Prior to joining Case Western Reserve in 2007, Mr. Brown was Capital Markets Advisor at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where he assisted the Department in developing market-based financing initiatives, including implementation of the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act, the first federal credit enhancement program for surface transportation. Earlier, Mr. Brown was an investment banker in Lehman Brothers’ transportation finance group, and he practiced law with the firm of Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue in Cleveland. He also practiced and taught at the Institute for Public Interest Representation in Washington, D.C.  During his military service, he was an engineer on the staff of the late Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, who fathered the U.S. Navy’s nuclear power program.  Mr. Brown is a long-time member, appointed by President Clinton and re-appointed by President Bush, of the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, the operator of Washington National and Washington Dulles Airports and the developer of the Dulles Metrorail project.  He is a member of the Ohio and District of Columbia Bars.
  • Belden Hull Daniels
    Belden Hull Daniels of Boston, Massachusetts, is the founder and CEO of Economic Innovation International, Inc., a firm internationally recognized for building more than $150 billion of Triple Bottom Line privately capitalized funds in 43 states and 21 nations of North America, Europe, and Asia since the firm was founded in 1970.  Over the past four decades, Mr. Daniels and Economic Innovation have helped build more than two dozen funds and development institutions in 16 of the 18 states served by the Northeast-Midwest Institute.  He is an attorney, former international banker and development economist who taught for many years at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
  • Vincent DeVito
    Vincent DeVito of Boston, Massachusetts is a corporate and regulatory attorney at the Boston office of Bowditch & Dewey. Mr. DeVito is an authority on renewable energy development and corporate sustainability issues and He specializes in energy and clean technologies and works on legislative and regulatory corporate disclosure and compliance matters at the state, national, and international levels. He served in the Office of the General Counsel at the U. S. Department of Energy and has served as the U.S. Assistant Secretary of Energy for Policy and International Affairs where he oversaw the Climate Change Technology Program. He also served as interim Executive Director of the Institute for Energy and Sustainability and sits on the Advisory Board of Greenopolis.com.  He is admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, New York, and the District of Columbia.
  • Alex Echols
    A former U.S. Senate staffer and executive at the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, Mr. Echols currently serves as President of Terra Altus, a conservation consulting firm headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia.
  • Nuria Fernandez
    Former senior vice president with Earth Tech, is senior vice president and director of global sales for the Transportation Business Group of CH2M, in Chicago, Illinois.
  • Doreen M. Frasca
    Doreen M. Frasca of New York, New York, is an investment consultant specializing  in providing strategic advice principally to the transportation sector on the financing of large, complex infrastructure projects. She has spent the past 32 years on Wall Street, initially at Dillon, Read & Co. Inc., on the municipal bond trading desk, and then at Merrill Lynch & Co., where she ultimately headed the Airports and Transportation Group and served on the Division’s Executive Committee. In 2008, she was appointed by the Governor of New York to serve on the Board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, where she chairs the Transit Committee. Over the course of her career, she has financed in excess of $20 billion in projects for U.S. airports, roads, rail and bridges.
  • Robert W. Gee
    A former two time U.S. Asst. Secretary of Energy (Fossil Energy and Policy & International Affairs), as well as Chairman of the Texas Public Utility Commission, Mr. Gee is a practicing attorney and President of Gee Strategies Group LLC, a Washington, DC-based energy and utilities consulting firm.
  • John Hottinger
    Former majority leader of the Minnesota State Senate and past president of the Council of State Governments, is president of Hottinger Consulting.
  • David Lovenheim
    David Lovenheim of Leesburg, Virginia is co-founder and  Managing Director of Keystones Global, LLC., a national consulting firm that specializes  in business and management consulting with early-stage, idea-based companies in North America and the European Union. He also serves as Managing Director of Esplanade Ventures, a venture capital investment fund with a track record of over 25 years of successful investments and investment management in early stage, technology companies throughout the United States. Lovenheim was the former Chief of Staff to U.S. Congressman Frank J. Horton in Washington, D.C. and also served as a minority staff director of the House Committee on Government Operations.  He was a charter member and former Chair of the Northeast Midwest Institute Board of Directors.
  • Toby Marcovich
    Former president of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, is a partner with the law firm of Marcovich, Cochrane, Milliken, Swanson & Kropid.
  • Henri Rauschenbach
    Former Massachusetts State Senator, is currently with Smith & Rauschenbach, a Boston consulting firm.
