Allen Hance
is a senior policy analyst at the Northeast-Midwest Institute, where
he directs the Agriculture
Policy Project. The Northeast-Midwest Institute is a Washington-based,
private, non-profit, and non-partisan research organization dedicated
to economic vitality, environmental quality, and regional equity
for Northeast and Midwest states.
Gus
Schumacher, Jr., a consultant to the Kellogg Foundation,
is the former Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural
Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Prior to his appointment as Under Secretary, he was
the Administrator of USDAs Foreign Agricultural
Service. Before coming to USDA, Mr. Schumacher served
at the World Bank and as the Massachusetts Commissioner
of Food and Agriculture.
