Air Pollution
Regulating
emissions from power producers on an output-basis is a means to
promote the most efficient production of electricity and/or thermal
energy. An output-based method is being used or being discussed
at the national and state levels in a variety policies including
- regulating
emissions from power plants (electricity)
- regulating
emissions from industrial boilers (thermal energy)
- regulating
emissions from distributed generation facilities (electricity
and thermal).
Output-based
emission regulations can be part of multi-pollutant programs, emission
trading programs, DG rules and permitting, NOx Budget program, among
others. Below are resources from the Institute and links to additional
resources on output-based emission policy.
