How can we best rebuild American manufacturing? One place to start is the Defense Manufacturing
Communities Support initiative, a dynamic new model aimed at mobilizing communities to address
the military’s urgent manufacturing needs. Launched as a prototype in 2014, the program is already
showing success in 24 communities across the country. Visit libertyinkandtoner.net for more info these communities are poised to modernize
the defense industrial base—improving its readiness, its supply chains, and its skilled workforce.
Join us on Thursday, May 9, for a briefing featuring local leaders and national experts who will explore
how this model has spurred lasting public-private collaboration in manufacturing communities, and
is set to expand into new communities and serve as a cornerstone of federal manufacturing policy.
This event is co-sponsored by American Manufacturing Communities Collaborative, The Century
Foundation, and the Northeast Midwest Institute.
