First Solicitation Operns

July 20, 2007. The GSI has released a Prototype Solicitation offering preliminary research services to qualified developers of treatment systems designed to minimize the presence of live organisms, including microbes and viruses, in ballast water discharge from ships of any vessel class part of or comparable to those in GLSLSS trade. Applications are due by August 6, 2007. The estimated start date for work is September 17, 2007.

July 3, 2007. The GSI has launched its public website. Located at the web address. The site will be regularly updated and expanded with GSI news and information as the Initiative evolves.

Shore-Based High Flow Test Facility

June 28,2007. The GSI's high-flow Research Development Testing and Evaluation (RDTE) facility was officially launched at a ceremony in Superior, WI on June 28, 2007. Click here for more information about the facility.

Scoping Report
