Ag Works
Northeast
Ag Works! is a region-wide project to propose, promote and
support public policies that foster and sustain our regions
agriculture and food system. The project advances a regionalist
framework to evaluate and promote public farm and food policies
at all levels. It addresses federal, state and inter-state
policy barriers and opportunities, and provide legislators
and advocates with research, tools, resources and forums.
The Northeast-Midwest Institute serves on the project team
and collaborated with other partners to author the October
2006 report on the Northeast Farm and Food System.

(November 9-10, 2006)
On November 9-10, 2006, Northeast Ag Works! presented the
Northeast Regional Policy Summit in Baltimore, Maryland. The
purpose of the Summit was to build a Northeast policy agenda
and strong regional voice for the 2007 Farm Bill. Over 80
policy makers, advocates and educators came together to learn
about each other's policy priorities, and plot a course to
make the Farm Bill more responsive to Northeast characteristics
and needs.
